At Roofing Industries it is our objective to build sustainability in with what we generally consider to be 'good’ business practices, such as increased efficiency, minimising waste and maximizing resources. Sustainable business practices are a way to lead our group and are applied across all aspects of our business - from administration, roll forming to waste disposal. Roofing Industries is moving towards utilising Environmentally Sustainable practices across all our operations. We undertake to educate our employees, suppliers and customers on our Environmental Sustainability vision.
Roofing Industries recently completed and achieved GreenTagCertTM GreenRate Level A certification for our roll-Formed Metal Roofing, Cladding, Flashing and Rainwater Systems using ColorCote. The process begun approximately 6 months ago with the help of ColorCote and their EPD (Environmental Product Declaration). Thank you to Steve Haines and his team for their great help! What this certification means is that Roofing Industries has put in place globally recognised initiatives to develop, market, and sell products that are achieving less negative environmental and health impacts in the built environment industry. This will help us achieve more specification with architects and win more projects where environmental considerations are important. We can use the Global GreenTag logo prominently in our marketing and sales exercises, specifically in association with ColorCote product (e.g. marketing our website, brochures, products and trade displays). Energy PolicyRoofing Industries are pleased to announce our recent ECNZ (Environment Choice NZ) Licence and tick using NZ Steel Coil products - Colorsteel®, Zincalume® and GalvSteel®.This certification allows architects and designers to achieve two points towards their Homestar or Greenstar projects when using Roofing Industries Roofing/Cladding products made from NZ Steel products at our Albany Auckland branch. In addition, there has been a recent change to Homestar in that it now recognises EPD's (Environmental Product Declarations) as an acceptable means of compliance under MAT-1 Sustainable Materials Credit. This means that architects and designers can achieve up to 1.5 points when using Roofing Industries roofing/cladding products made from NZ Steel products under the ColorSteel® EPD at all 14 Roofing Industries branches. Please contact Roofing Industries technical helpline on 0800 844822 to discuss how to achieve Homestar or Greenstar points for your project. We are happy to help!
Learn moreThe availability of energy saving products are high on the wish-list for designers and building owners, and fortunately Roofing Industries and its suppliers are continually investigating methods to improve thermal heat loss and gain characteristics through translucent roofing and cladding systems. By sheer design, natural roof lighting systems transmit infra-red heat from the sun and unfortunately in some cases transmitted heat can make a building interior literally unbearable. Natural roof lighting systems can also be extremely complex and to ensure the appropriate project specific material is used requires careful analysis prior to specification. A number of heat reflecting and absorbing natural lighting products have been designed either by tinting or alternatively the introduction of heat reflective pigments. Other developments include the use of bonded twin skinned natural roof light systems preventing transmitted heat and or loss of heat through the roof lights. During the building design process, Roofing Industries architectural team is available to assist ensuring the appropriate products are utilised.
The RoofLogic FiberthermX system is a proven commercial roofing solution that provides a range of important advantages in terms of design, performance, and construction. Engineered to meet wind (positive and negative), snow, and seismic design loads (SLS and ULS), FiberthermX is the culmination of 10 years of Research & Development. At the heart of the FiberthermX system is the structural rail assembly that is used to separate the outer skin from the internal liner deck.
Suitable applications: Metal skin warm roof for education buildings, retail, and large area roofs.
Insulated metal skin warm roof system assembly providing thermal, acoustic, and structural performance to meet the precise project requirements. Install the Ultratherm MSR system over RoofLogic’s engineered structural liner deck or standard plywood and concrete substrates.
Suitable applications: Metal skin warm roof for education buildings, high-end insulated metal roofs and buildings with complex geometries.
Topglass® translucent roofing has been specifically developed to combat the effect of ultraviolet rays and atmospheric pollutants, without the yellowing and rapid product degradation associated with commonly available glass-reinforced roof sheeting. Using major technological advances, Topglass is supplied as a cost-effective product encompassing a purpose developed UV stabilised composite resin system that is surface protected with an Alsynite weather surface coating, providing long-term effective light transmission.
